Acer will release its Predator Atlas 8 gaming handheld in the US on November 1st, marking the first time a device from the company's Predator handheld line has received an official US launch. The Intel Arc G3 Extreme variant, the more powerful of the two models Acer announced in May, will be sold exclusively at Best Buy for $1,299.99.

The Atlas 8 is built around Intel's Arc B390 graphics with 12 Xe3 GPU cores, matched with 24GB of LPDDR5x RAM. Its 8-inch display runs at 120Hz. The handheld includes dual-mode triggers and TMR joysticks, and it can be used either as a handheld or in a docked setup.

The device runs Windows 11 and supports Xbox Game Pass, giving buyers access to a broad library of games. Acer has announced several handheld gaming devices across its Predator and Nitro series, but the Atlas 8 is the first of them to get a US release.

The $1,299.99 price matches that of the Xbox Ally X20. Interest in the Atlas 8 appears strong: preorders that Best Buy opened last week have already sold out, according to the report. Acer said online orders will reopen on November 1st, the same day the device arrives in stores.

Acer first showed off the Predator Atlas 8 several months before this week's US launch details, so the announcement fills in both availability and pricing for American buyers. The news comes as PC gaming handhelds continue to draw attention, with coverage tracking devices including the Steam Deck and ROG Ally.

US customers who want the Atlas 8 will have a single retail channel at launch, since Best Buy holds exclusivity on the Intel Arc G3 Extreme model. Those who missed the earlier preorder window will have to wait for November 1st, when Acer says online orders will resume alongside in-store availability.
