Comp AI, a compliance automation startup, said it has raised $34 million in new funding to expand its software for preparing companies for security audits. The Miami-based company, incorporated as Bubba AI Inc., plans to put the money toward monitoring that continues after an audit is completed. It also will fund hiring across product, engineering, sales and customer success. Roo Capital and Grand Ventures led the Series A round.

The platform reads a customer's own systems and documents to gather organizational context, then drafts policies and risk registers from what it finds. Agents handle onboarding, collect evidence, watch controls and run vendor security assessments. More than 1,000 companies use the software, including Dub Technologies Inc. and OpenCode. Its core is open source, and it covers frameworks including SOC 2 and ISO 27001. The project's GitHub page presents Comp AI as an alternative to Vanta Inc. and Drata Inc., which was valued at $4.15 billion in a $150 million round last year.

Chief Executive Lewis Carhart said the first generation of compliance software showed the process could be automated, and that agentic AI allows the company to go further. He said security software should not merely track work but understand the business, perform the work and act as risk changes. The company's next steps include real-time monitoring and control validation, along with running its agents through security tests against customer applications and infrastructure. Comp AI describes that expansion as moving the platform beyond audit readiness and into cybersecurity.

Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer Claudio Fuentes said compliance has historically been an approximation of security because the underlying work could only be done by hand and on a fixed schedule. He said AI agents remove that constraint, adding that attacks are accelerating as AI spreads. Carhart founded the company in January 2025 with Fuentes and Mariano Fuentes, the chief technology officer. It operates from Miami with an office in New York.

Comp AI said annual recurring revenue has grown 15 times over the past year. The pre-seed round before the Series A was $2.6 million in August 2025, co-led by Grand Ventures and OSS Capital, with Sentry co-founder David Cramer among the angels. Investors have now placed $36.6 million into the company. The compliance automation market is a US-heavy software category, where Vanta and Drata have drawn large valuations from American investors.
