Bluesky is introducing a moderation inbox that gives users a single place to follow the platform's enforcement activity. The feature is available in beta inside the Bluesky app, the company said. It gathers the reports a user has submitted about other accounts and posts, any actions taken against that user's own account, and the user's overall standing on the platform.

Users can switch the inbox on by enabling beta features in the app's Settings menu, then opening the inbox from the Moderation tools menu. Bluesky said the inbox will initially be empty even for users who have already received a strike. It will populate as the user files reports on posts and as Bluesky acts on the account or applies labels to the user's posts.

The inbox also provides a way to appeal most Bluesky decisions directly within the app. Suspensions are the exception and still have to be handled at the login screen, according to the company. Bluesky said the feature is meant to make communication with users easier.

Previously, Bluesky shared moderation decisions by email. The company said that approach made it hard to reach people who use Bluesky through independent servers, and that when it did send email, it was often only for serious decisions. The inbox lets Bluesky notify anyone using the Bluesky app and walk users through each stage of the moderation process without filling up their email.

Bluesky has built a reputation for strong blocking tools that let users moderate their own feeds, but its own moderation practices have drawn criticism. In 2025, The Guardian reported that Bluesky's automated spam system repeatedly deactivated the accounts of Palestinians crowdfunding for supplies on the platform, which critics said treated people like bots. Users also objected to the company's handling of posts about the assassination of Charlie Kirk. Clearer in-app notices and appeals could reduce some of that backlash.

The moderation inbox arrives alongside another change in Bluesky's latest update: an optional home screen widget that shows trending topics.
