WiCi is bringing a wireless external GPU to market, aiming at users who want to keep a thin laptop but still run demanding games or AI workloads. The product, called the WiCi One, connects over Wi-Fi 7 instead of the Thunderbolt or OCuLink cables used by other external GPU options. WiCi says the device works with any compatible hardware.
The WiCi One carries its hardware in a single enclosure that holds a dedicated graphics card, a Wi-Fi 7 wireless module and its own cooling system. The base model ships with an Nvidia RTX 5060 Ti 16GB GPU, an Intel Core 3 100U CPU and 1TB of NVMe storage. WiCi also plans a more powerful version built around an RTX 5090 32GB, an Intel Core Ultra 7 225H and an NVMe 5 SSD with 4TB of storage.
For the RTX 5060 Ti configuration, WiCi said the system can run Cyberpunk 2077 at 4K Ultra with DLSS 4 at 80 fps, and Black Myth: Wukong at 4K Cinematic with DLSS 4 at 60 fps. Beyond gaming, WiCi is marketing the WiCi One for heavy AI tasks and for running local AI assistants.
The base model is available for preorder starting at $1,999, and WiCi said it will eventually carry a $2,599 price tag. WiCi expects to begin shipping the first WiCi One units in the fourth quarter of this year. Pricing for the more capable RTX 5090 variant will be announced closer to its launch date.
The WiCi One enters a small external GPU category that has so far depended on wired connections. WiCi's approach removes the cable requirement and targets devices that meet its compatibility terms. The company has not detailed which devices qualify.
For US buyers, the preorder price of $1,999 applies to the base RTX 5060 Ti model, with the higher $2,599 figure set for later. The RTX 5090 version has no announced price or ship date beyond WiCi's statement that it will share details near launch.
