New leaked images of Google's midrange Fitbit Edge fitness tracker have surfaced, showing the device from several angles and in multiple colors. The pictures were posted by Android Headlines. The wearable is expected to succeed the Charge line, which sits in the middle of Google's fitness tracking lineup. Google has not confirmed the device.
The leaked images indicate the Fitbit Edge fits between the Pixel Watch and the Fitbit Air in design. It carries a small screen capable of showing some widgets, but the display is not as large as that of a full smartwatch. The device had appeared in earlier leaks as well, though the new images offer a clearer view of its appearance.
According to the reports, the Fitbit Edge is a fitness-first wearable with a seven-day battery life. It is also said to include built-in GPS and an altimeter, which would make it considerably more capable than the minimalist Fitbit Air. The device reportedly offers limited app support for services including Google Maps and YouTube Music. Little else about the product is known.
The Fitbit Charge line has not been updated since 2023, leaving the midrange segment of Google's tracker lineup open for a refresh. No price or release date for the Fitbit Edge has been reported. Based on the existing lineup, a price somewhere between $150 and $200 appears likely, since the Fitbit Air costs $99.99 and the Pixel Watch starts at $399.99. The Charge 6 currently sells for $159.95.
For US buyers, the Fitbit Edge would sit in the same middle tier the Charge 6 has occupied, below the Pixel Watch and above the Air. The leaked images suggest Google is positioning the device as a step-up option for users who want more health and location features than the Air provides without paying smartwatch prices. Google has not said when or whether the product will reach stores.
