Apple's iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are now available for preorder, the company's two upgraded smartphones announced at its September 2026 "Sunrise and shine" event. The phones reach customers on Friday, September 18th. Apple unveiled the devices alongside the iPhone Duo and other new products at the event.
The iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max run on the A20 Pro processor, which Apple says delivers more GPU power and additional neural cores for AI-related tasks. The cameras also receive what the company describes as welcome improvements. The Pro carries a 6.3-inch display, while the Pro Max measures 6.9 inches.
Pricing for the iPhone 18 Pro begins at $1,199 for the 256GB model and climbs to $2,399 for the 2TB configuration. The iPhone 18 Pro Max starts at $1,299 for 256GB and reaches $2,499 for 2TB. Both models come in four colors: deep black, silver, glacier, and burgundy.
For US buyers, Apple is the only place at the start of the preorder window to reserve an unlocked version of either phone. Apple offers financing through 36 monthly payments at zero percent APR. The new phones also qualify for the recently announced Apple Upgrade program. Customers can trade in an existing phone for as much as $885 in credit toward the purchase, and carriers are offering additional credits on top of that.
Retailers Best Buy and Walmart are limited to carrier-locked models during the opening phase of preorders. Best Buy lists the iPhone 18 Pro through Verizon or AT&T, and the Pro Max through Verizon or AT&T. Walmart carries the iPhone 18 Pro through Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile, and the Pro Max through T-Mobile, Verizon, or AT&T.
The preorder launch follows Apple's September event, where the iPhone Duo and AirPods 5 also debuted. Apple has separately addressed iPhone Duo copycats, according to coverage from the event. Preordering early gives buyers a better chance of securing their preferred color and storage capacity before configurations sell out.
