Google has pulled the Pixel Tablet from its online store, a move that suggests the company may have discontinued the device. The removal was first spotted by Jetstream, which also reported days earlier that the tablet had been listed as out of stock. Google has not yet confirmed whether the product has officially been phased out.
The company has also removed the Tablet option from the menu at the top of its homepage, according to Engadget. In addition, the Pixel Tablet is no longer available for purchase on Amazon. Its Best Buy listing now states that the item is no longer available in new condition.
Accessories for the Pixel Tablet remain listed on the Google Store, but most are out of stock. Items including the Pixel Tablet Case and the Charging Speaker Dock can only be set for notification if they return. The Wasserstein Pixel Tablet Speaker Stand is currently the only accessory available to buy.
Google introduced the Pixel Tablet at I/O 2023. The device launched at a price of $499 and came with a charging speaker base, an offer that made the bundle more appealing to buyers. The Pixel Tablet was among the company's efforts to compete in the US consumer tablet market, where Apple's iPad and other rivals dominate.
Google has not responded to a request for confirmation about whether the Pixel Tablet has been discontinued. Engadget said it would update its coverage if the company responds. Until then, the removal from the Google Store, Amazon and Best Buy leaves US shoppers without a new unit to purchase from those retailers.
