Even Realities has released a brown colorway of its G2 smart glasses. The new model, called Even Brown 2, carries the same core hardware as the standard G2, with the brownish finish and a lighter overall weight as the main differences. The glasses are available now in the US at $649.

Even Realities says each frame is individually shaped, pressed, tumbled and polished for 20 hours, which produces subtle variations between pairs. Buyers can choose between a rounded style and a more square-shaped one. Apart from the color and the reduced weight, the Brown 2 is a standard pair of G2 smart glasses.

That means the display supports live translation, notifications and an on-the-fly teleprompter. The G2's feature set drew strong praise in Engadget's review, which described it as a kind of platonic ideal for smart glasses features. The control scheme, by contrast, was found to be clunky, particularly when the glasses were paired with a smart ring.

Even Realities has partly addressed that through a recent software update, which added new gestures and more refined on-glasses controls. The update also lets the glasses monitor AI coding agents as they work.

Alongside the new colorway, Even Realities introduced two accessories. A new pair of clips adds sunglasses functionality, and a chain allows the glasses to be worn around the neck when they are not in use. The clip is priced at $149 and the chain at $79.

The $79 price for the chain stood out as expensive in the source article's assessment. The Brown 2 joins the existing G2 lineup, which remains on sale, and the accessories are positioned as add-ons for buyers of the new finish.
