Boox has announced three new E Ink devices, led by the third-generation Palma, a smartphone-sized reader the company markets as a low-stimulation second screen. The launch also includes the Note Air6 C and the Note Mini C, two color-screen digital notebooks aimed at users who want a tablet-style writing device. The Note Air6 C is the only one of the three available to purchase now.
The Palma 3 carries a price of $340 and runs on Android 16. Its 6.13-inch E Ink screen is not color, but it includes a dual-tone front light and an ambient light sensor that adjusts to surroundings. The device also offers a rear camera, dual microphones, and a customizable smart button, features carried over from the Palma 2. A new aluminum build replaces the plastic design of the previous model. Boox says the Palma 3 is due out soon, without a formal release date.
The Note Air6 C is priced at $580 and is the newest member of Boox's Note Air line. It functions as an E Ink Android tablet with a bundled stylus, and it runs Android 16 for a more tablet-style interface and app experience. Its color screen measures 10.3 inches and uses a Kaleido 3 display. New firmware adds Dual Notes, which lets users annotate two documents side by side, along with several AI features including a meeting and audio insights tool and document summaries.
The Note Mini C costs the same $580 as the larger Note Air6 C but has a smaller 8.52-inch screen. It uses the same Kaleido 3 color display and is designed for on-the-go work and one-handed holding. Both Note models share an octa-core processor, 6 GB of RAM, and 64 GB of storage, expandable up to 2 TB via microSD card. The difference between them is size rather than power. The Note Mini C is not yet on sale, and Boox says it is coming soon.
Boox has built a following among E Ink users with a broad range of digital notebooks and tablets that mimic the appearance of ink on paper. The Palma line, which comes in a palm-sized shape, has been well received as an e-reader option. The three-device launch arrives during the fall product season, when technology companies typically release new hardware, and follows Apple's annual September iPhone event.
For US buyers, only the Note Air6 C can be ordered now, while the Palma 3 and Note Mini C have no confirmed release dates beyond Boox's statement that both are coming soon. The Palma 3's move to an aluminum body and its continuing camera, microphone, and smart button features distinguish it from the Palma 2. The Note Air6 C's AI tools and side-by-side annotation reflect Boox's push to position its E Ink tablets as productivity devices as well as readers.
