Artificial intelligence agent developer Wonderful AI BV announced that it has raised $550 million in a Series C round, securing a valuation of $5 billion. The funding was led by Insight Partners, which also led the company鈥檚 prior funding round in March, with participation from Salesforce, Index Ventures, IVP, Vine Ventures, 9Yards, and Bessemer. The Amsterdam-based startup sells a platform that enterprises use to build AI agents for tasks such as answering product questions, fixing technical issues, and automating common business operations.

Wonderful鈥檚 agents are also designed for more complex work through support for Google LLC鈥檚 A2A protocol, an open-source technology that can divide a challenging task among multiple agents. The platform includes features for organizing agent development projects into team-specific folders, along with a version control mechanism that tracks project revisions and allows users to quickly roll back issues. Customers also have access to an A/B testing tool that creates multiple versions of an agent, compares their performance, and helps identify which version should be released to end-users.

The second major component of the platform is the Wonderful AI Gateway, which routes each agent request to the large language model best suited to process it. Complex prompts are sent to frontier LLMs, while simpler tasks are handled by smaller, less expensive algorithms. Companies can set rules to customize the gateway鈥檚 behavior, such as specifying which developer teams may use which models, and the platform monitors each business unit鈥檚 LLM usage to flag cost spikes and potentially insecure access patterns.

Wonderful also offers professional services alongside its software, including forward deployed engineering (FDE) teams that help clients build agents on the platform. These teams can also develop complete applications, such as customer relationship management systems, from scratch in a fraction of the time required by traditional software modernization projects. The company鈥檚 co-founder and Chief Executive Officer, Roey Lalazar, said in a statement that the platform was designed to be modular and open, so enterprises do not have to replace their existing systems to become AI-native, and can choose which parts of the platform to adopt while retaining ownership of what they build.

The funding will be used to speed up product development and expand Wonderful鈥檚 international FDE teams. The announcement comes as demand for enterprise AI automation tools continues to grow among US and global businesses. Wonderful鈥檚 backers include several firms active in the US technology investment market, and its platform targets companies seeking to deploy AI agents across customer service, internal support, and other operational areas.
