Inmo has recalled its Air3 smart glasses because the left temple can overheat during extended use, creating a burn hazard that the company says poses a risk of serious injury or death. The recall covers more than 1,600 units sold in the United States and Canada between December 2025 and August 2026. The glasses were sold through Inmo's website, Amazon, and a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign, priced between $900 and $1,300.
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission said it has received 10 reports from users who felt a burning sensation on the face and the left side of the ear while wearing the Air3. The affected glasses have black frames and a label reading Air3 and Inmo on the right temple. Consumers can use those markings to determine whether their pair falls under the recall.
Inmo's recall page instructs owners to stop using the Air3 right away and to contact the company's support team by phone or email. Support staff will help with a free online software update intended to fix the problem. The recall was launched in cooperation with the CPSC.
Signs of the overheating issue appeared well before the official recall. Reviews of the Air3 from as far back as seven months earlier described the left temple heating up and causing a burning sensation. The company was already aware of the problem and shipped the glasses with a protective sleeve meant to shield the wearer's head from the excessive heat, according to the recall notice.
The Air3 is one of several smart glasses variations made by Inmo. The recall applies to units sold in the US and Canadian markets during the nine-month window.
Consumers in the US who own the glasses should check the label on the right temple and contact Inmo's support team rather than continuing to wear the device. The CPSC is handling the recall alongside the company.
