Peacock is raising prices across all of its streaming plans for U.S. subscribers, with the cheapest ad-supported tier increasing by one dollar and the top-tier ad-free option jumping by three dollars. The company’s Select plan, which carries ads, now costs $8.99 per month, up from the previous $7.99. The change affects existing customers as well as new sign-ups, continuing a broader trend of price hikes across the streaming industry.

The mid-tier Premium plan, which also includes ads, is rising from $10.99 to $12.99 per month. The most expensive option, Premium Plus, which offers ad-free viewing, is going from $16.99 to $19.99 per month. These increases were first reported by Variety, and they mark the second time Peacock has adjusted its pricing in recent months.

Peacock’s price adjustments follow similar moves by other major streaming services. YouTube Premium recently raised its subscription cost, and Netflix announced another price increase earlier this year. Plex also hiked the price of its lifetime pass to $750, a significant jump after doubling it last year. The pattern points to a sustained period of higher costs for consumers who subscribe to multiple platforms.

For U.S. viewers, the new rates mean that even the basic Peacock plan now costs nearly nine dollars a month. The ad-supported tier remains the entry point for budget-conscious subscribers, but the gap between it and the ad-free Premium Plus plan has widened to eleven dollars. Peacock has not announced any new features or content changes tied to the price increases, leaving the higher fees as the primary change for subscribers.

The hikes are part of a larger industry shift as streaming services seek to boost revenue amid rising content production costs and slower subscriber growth. While Peacock’s parent company has not commented publicly on the rationale, the move aligns with recent actions from competitors who have also raised prices to improve profitability. Subscribers who want to keep their current plan will need to accept the new monthly charges, as no discounts or promotional extensions have been mentioned.

With these changes, Peacock’s cheapest plan is now on par with the starting price of several rival services, which may affect consumer choices in a crowded market. The ad-free tier, at nearly twenty dollars per month, places Peacock among the higher-priced streaming options available to U.S. households. The increases take effect immediately for new subscribers, while existing users will likely see the new rates on their next billing cycle.
