Nintendo has unveiled new Switch 2 bundle options ahead of a planned price increase for the console, which takes effect on September 1. The company announced a new Nintendo Switch Sports Resort bundle and a revamped version of its existing Mario Kart World package, both of which will include a 90-day individual Nintendo Switch Online membership. The launch version of the Mario Kart World bundle did not include that membership. The games included in these bundles are digital versions.
The updated Mario Kart World bundle will cost $550, which is $50 more than the original bundle. That increase matches the new standalone price of the Switch 2 console, which will rise to $500 from $450 on September 1. The inclusion of three months of Switch Online access, which normally costs $8, slightly offsets the price bump. Nintendo stated that this bundle, available in late September, will cost $38 less than buying the console, the game, and the online membership separately at that time.
However, consumers who purchase all three items individually before the price increase takes effect would pay $12 less than the refreshed bundle costs. The current standalone prices are $450 for the console and $80 for the game. Alternatively, buyers could choose a full year of Switch Online instead of the three-month membership bundled with the game, getting an extra nine months of access for the same total price as the new bundle.
The newly announced Nintendo Switch Sports Resort bundle is scheduled to arrive on October 22, the same day the game is released. That bundle will cost $530, which Nintendo says represents a $28 discount compared to buying the items separately. This implies the standalone price of Nintendo Switch Sports Resort will be $50.
In May, Nintendo introduced a different Switch 2 bundle that let customers choose between Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza, or Pokémon Pokopia. The company said that offer was available for a limited time, so it is likely being phased out as the price increase approaches. For US consumers, these bundles represent a way to secure the new hardware and games before the September cost adjustment, though the value of each option depends on whether buyers act before the console price hike goes into effect.
