Google has introduced several trip-planning tools to AI Mode in Search, including a flight price tracker, a hotel booking option, and a way to view costs in miles or points. The company announced the update, which is now rolling out to users. The flight price-tracking feature draws from Google Flights and lets travelers ask the chatbot about specific destinations and dates, pulling options from more than 300 airlines and travel sites.
Once a traveler asks AI Mode to track prices, Google will send an email notification when fares change for the chosen route and travel dates. This price-tracking capability is live in all locations and languages where AI Mode is available, except for countries and territories in the European Economic Area. That exclusion means US users can access the feature immediately, while those in the excluded region will have to wait.
In addition to tracking, AI Mode can now display flight and hotel costs in miles or points for all users. Travelers simply tell the chatbot their destination and dates, and it will show the mileage cost for flights. For hotels, users can request a price in reward points. The feature initially supports Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, American Airlines, Choice Hotels International, Hilton, and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. Google says support for Accor, Flying Blue, Hyatt, LATAM Airlines, and Lufthansa Group is coming soon.
AI Mode is also adding the ability to book hotel stays directly through the chatbot. After entering trip details and preferences, users will see hotel options with guest reviews and can complete a reservation using Google Pay. This booking function launches in the US in English, working with partner sites that include Expedia, Marriott International, and Priceline. Google plans to make this feature available in the coming weeks.
The new tools extend AI Mode’s utility for US travelers, who can now plan and book trips without leaving Search. The miles and points feature covers a range of major airline and hotel loyalty programs, giving frequent travelers more flexibility. The price tracker adds a practical layer, helping users monitor fares for planned trips over time. Google’s phased rollout means some features are available now, while the hotel booking capability will arrive for US users in the near future.
