Delta, the gaming emulator app, has been updated to version 2.0, adding support for Apple’s iPhone Duo foldable alongside Sega Genesis titles and other features. The release affects iPhone and iPad users, including those in the United States, and marks the first time Delta is available on the EU App Store. Delta 2.0 also introduces animated controller skins, custom Pokémon DLC experiences, and a redesigned interface built around Apple’s Liquid Glass design language.
Support for the iPhone Duo is a central addition. Delta creator Riley Testut said the update optimizes controller skins for every device pose in both portrait and landscape orientation, and that split-view multitasking still works while other apps run. Closing the Duo puts emulated Nintendo DS games into sleep mode, mirroring what happens when a physical DS lid is shut. The update is aimed at users who want to emulate DS games on Apple’s flagship foldable.
The new Sega Genesis support ships with iPhone and iPad controller skins that recreate the look of the classic Genesis controller. Delta 2.0 also adds a DLC feature offering custom in-game experiences for classic Pokémon games, including event items and rare Pokémon. Testut said it will support all mainline Pokémon titles released for the Game Boy Advance, that the first DLC is coming soon, and that it was built by the Pokémon ROM hacking community without AI tools.
Two experimental features are included as well. Support for Epilogue’s GB/SN Operator gadgets lets users play old Nintendo cartridges on an iPhone or iPad. Custom Filters change how games look through a filter overlay, with defaults such as a CRT-inspired option or user-imported filters.
The interface has been overhauled for Apple’s Liquid Glass design language and adapts across iPhones, iPads, and the iPhone Duo, giving default artwork a light, glassy appearance. Delta 2.0 also adds animated controller skins with support for third-party designs, new recents and favorites pages in the game library, and new settings options.
Beyond gameplay, Delta now offers global support for in-app purchases through a new Become a Patron option. The release is also the first Delta launch on the EU App Store, making it available globally on Apple’s marketplace alongside AltStore PAL in supported regions.
