ASUS has launched its first gaming soundbar, the ROG Gjallar, in the United States with a price tag of $600. The device, initially introduced by the company in early July, is now listed on Best Buy and on ASUS' own US website. The product is currently either sold out or not yet stocked for purchase, though ASUS has added a "Notify Me" option for interested customers to receive an update when availability changes.

The soundbar was engineered specifically for multiplayer gaming scenarios, with its audio control hub featuring integrated microphones. ASUS claims the technology can separate teammate voices from in-game audio while also suppressing background noise, allowing for headset-free communication without losing voice clarity. This design targets gamers who prefer not to wear headsets during extended play sessions.

Named after the Gjallarhorn from Norse mythology, the ROG Gjallar features a 5.1.2-channel speaker configuration capable of producing three-dimensional Dolby Atmos audio effects. The subwoofer measures 6.5 inches, delivers 65 watts of power, and operates wirelessly through a dedicated 5GHz connection to the soundbar to minimize lag. The central audio control hub includes not only the built-in microphones but also an LCD display for adjusting volume, playback controls, input selection, and EQ profiles.

Connectivity options for the ROG Gjallar are extensive, including USB-C, HDMI 2.1 with eARC, optical, 3.5mm AUX, and Bluetooth 5.3. This versatility allows the soundbar to work with gaming PCs, Macs, mobile devices, PlayStation consoles, Xbox systems, the Nintendo Switch, and standard televisions. Additionally, the device includes two USB Type-A ports for connecting wireless dongles and other accessories. The product is marketed under the ASUS ROG brand and is available for US consumers through major retail channels.
